SLEEP MEDICINE & DENTISTRY... MADE SUPER EASY-PEASY

This course is an introduction for the dentist and dental team members to the medical subspecialty of sleep medicine and what dentistry has to offer it, as well as our patients…and loved ones.

At the completion of the course, participants will be able to:
  1. Discuss the consequences of inadequate and faulty sleep.
  2. Quickly and properly identify individuals 'at-risk' for sleep apnea and know how to quickly refer them to the appropriate physician in a manner that is both helpful and meaningful to the medical community.
  3. Properly assist our sleep medicine colleague in evaluating patients and supplying an appropriate oral device for their patients for whom an oral appliance has been recommended/ prescribed.

3 CDE Hours will be awarded.

This event will feature an ODDS Business Meeting, CE Lecture, and Social Hour including hors d'oeuvres and cocktails. A more detailed event agenda will be announced at a later date.

In addition to being a prosthodontist, Dr. Tylka is boarded in Orofacial Pain (The only OFP Specialist licenses in the State of Nebraska) and has directed courses, curriculum and clinics in Temporomandibular Disorders, Orofacial Pain, as well as was the inaugural Director of Sleep Medicine at the University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center.
